St Andrews Student Jumps To Death After CBSE Class XII Results

Satvik - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: The examination phobia has claimed yet another life in city. Class XII student committed suicide on Saturday after the CBSE Board exam results were declared and died on Monday. According to police Satvik Mishra (18) was a student of St Andrews School in Bowenpally and is said to have failed in Maths.

The police said that the results were announced at 12.30 pm on Saturday. Satvik spoke with his friends on phone for a while about how disappointed he was. It is said that he informed his mother that he was going outside, but went to the fifth floor terrace of the building and jumped from there.

The residents of the building heard a huge sound at around 1 pm and were shocked to see that Satvik jumped from the fifth floor. According to a neighbour, Satvik parents never degraded their son and not even pressurised him to perform better in exams.

Despite school and CBSE Board preaching students that exams are not the end of life and students should look beyond the exams, there are such incidents being reported. In fact this year CBSE Board has started a helpline for counselling the students and sail them through the difficult times. But it seems nothing have helped save the lives of young students.
