Barely Two Months Into Marriage, Woman Commits Suicide

Hyderabad: An extra-marital affair of husband killed a woman who was married two months ago. Unable to bear the torture of her husband, the woman hanged herself to death in their house on Friday. But the parents of the woman were claiming that it was not a suicide and that their daughter has been murdered by her husband.

The victim has been identified as Sujatha, native Kurellagudem in East Godavari was married to Satyanarayana, resident of Yusufguda Check post on March 2. According to Banjara Hills police, Satyanarayana was in relationship with one Satyavathi before the marriage. Few days into marriage, he started bringing Satyavati to house and was living with her, while ignoring Sujatha.

When Sujatha questioned Satyanarayana, he started thrashing and physically torturing her. On May 24, Sujatha called up her mother and asked to solve the issue with her husband who was thrashing her in front of Satyavati. Even as the mother was getting ready to go to her daughter's place on Friday from East Godavari, she received a call from a person named Sivakrishna Reddy saying that Sujatha had committed suicide and was admitted to Star hospital.

Mother rushed to the hospital and found that her daughter to be dead. She complained that her daughter's death was not a suicide but a murder by their son-in-law Satyanarayana. In their complaint they mentioned that Satyanarayana was thrashing and torturing their daughter since marriage and also had extra-marital affair. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
