Who Will Be Team India’s Next Batting Coach? - Sakshi Post

Six candidates have been shortlisted to don the all-important role of Team India's chief coach, according to media reports. No surprises however, as Ravi Shastri seemed to be all set to retain his job as his performance appears to have pleased the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) bosses. The three-member committee led by Kapil Dev will announce its decision on Friday. Shastri has all the relevant credentials in the eyes of the cricket bosses, reports say. These include his past record apart from his seniority and experience.

Another important slot which is opening up is that of the batting coach. The iconic Rahul Dravid, currently India's junior national coach and National Cricket Academy (NCA) director, is said to have liked the approach of Vikram Rathour, a hot favourite for this assignment. The present batting coach Sanjay Bangar is also in the race. Others in the fray are, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, Amol Muzumdar, both veterans of first class cricket, senior coaches Pravin Amre and Lalchand Rajput.

Foreign players who showed their interest in taking up the assignment including former England batsmen, Jonathan Trott and Mark Ramprakash may not be considered.
