Hyderabad: The world's finest batsmen are giving it all out to be tagged at the highest run-getters in the ICC Men's World Cup 2019. The ‘Fab Four’ of England’s Joe Root, India’s Virat Kohli, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson and Australia’s Steve Smith who are regarded the best across all formats are going to face a tough competition from other players this time.

The teams who will be playing in the semi-finals have been decided. India, Australia, England and New Zealand are in the final four. India became the second team after title holders Australia to enter the the semi-finals of the 50-over showpiece.

1. Rohit Sharma (India)

Rohit Sharma is currently the highest run-getter in the ongoing mega-event with 647 runs from eight innings, with five centuries and one fifty. His 104 off 92 balls in the 28-run win over Bangladesh guided India to the World Cup semi-finals here on Tuesday and in the process he also equalled Kumar Sangakkara's record of scoring most tons in a World Cup edition.

2. David Warner (Australia)

After returning from the infamous ban, David Warner has been in great form. He has played nine World Cup matches so far and has scored 638 runs in nine innings with the help of three centuries and three half-centuries.

3. Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh)

In the eight innings that the Bangladeshi player has played, he has scored 606 runs with two centuries. The 32-year-old player has surpassed Sachin Tendulkar’s record of maximum runs scored in the group stages of the tournament (586 runs in 2003 World Cup).

He also became the first player score 500 runs and claim 10 wickets in a single World Cup campaign.

4. Aaron Finch

Australian skipper Aaron Finch coupled with opening partner David Warner has shattered records. The duo registered their fifth consecutive 50+ partnership against England on June 25.

In the nine matches that he has played, he has scored 507 runs, with two centuries. His highest score till now has been 153.

5. Joe Root (England)

England's Test captain has made his way into the record books after becoming the only English player to score 500 runs in World Cups.

In the ongoing World Cup and the nine innings he has played, he has three 50s and two centuries to him.
