ICC World Cup 2019: Pakistan Batsmen Not Scared Of Bouncers Says Coach Azhar Mahmood

Nottingham: As the Pakistan side got ready to take on hosts England in their second outing at the World Cup, coach Azhar Mahmood clarified that Pakistani batsmen were ready to face the English speedsters and would not get intimidated by bouncers.

The discomfort which Pakistani batsmen faced against West Indies pacers was a one-off experience which would not get repeated, he reportedly told mediapersons. West Indies had bowled out Pakistan for 105 runs in their first outing. It is likely that the England pacers would target the Pakistani batsmen with bouncers sensing some discomfort on their part.

Coach Azhar Mahmood has said that the Pakistani batsmen have since then, worked on their approach to short-pitched bowling. The current coach and former Pakistani all-rounder had played for the counties of Kent and Surrey and is familiar with playing conditions in England.

England defeated South Africa at the Oval in their first face-off by 104 runs.
