ICC World Cup: Top Bowlers To Watch Out For
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah is currently placed at the top in the list of ICC Top 10 ODI Bowlers. Bumrah is no pushover.
Jasprit Bumrah was recently hailed by Sachin Tendulkar as the best bowler of the world for his outstanding performance in the IPL 2019 final match—Mumbai Indians vs Chennai Super Kings taking two wickets. Incidentally, he leaked only 14 runs in his spell and was awarded player of the match title.
Bumrah has managed to grab 19 wickets from 16 matches in the recently concluded IPL 2019 with an impressive economy rate 6.63. It can’t get better.
Chris Woakes
Chris Woakes is one of the key bowlers for England. On his day, Oakes is a match-winner. He was in superb form against Pakistan in the recently concluded series and grabbed nine wickets in his last two games with Pakistan. Ending the series with a five-wicket haul, Oakes would be looking forward to carrying his form into World Cup 2019.
Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc is Australia’s bowling spearhead. The left-arm pacer is considered to carry the legacy of Australian fast Bowlers like Glen McGrath and Mitchell Johnson. He will be a threat for all the batsmen by the amount of pace and bounce he generates on all pitches. Starc’s Test series against Sri Lanka was his last notable performance.
In the last test match, he was awarded man of the match after a five-wicket haul in both the innings. He will be looking to playing a vital role in Australia's team in World Cup 2019.
Rashid Khan
Rashid Khan has the caliber to take Afghanistan into the later stages of the ICC World cup tournament with his impressive bowling. His leg breaks and googlies are likely to trouble batsmen. Currently, he is ranked at 3rd spot in the list of ICC Top ODI Bowlers. To his credit, he has 127 ODI wickets under his cap with an economy of 3.91
Trent Boult
Trent Boult is in the second place in the ICC Top 10 Bowlers list. He has an ability to move the ball both ways making it difficult for the batsmen to read. The left-arm pacer has the experience of playing 79 ODIs in which he has taken 147 wickets.
He did not do well in the IPL 2019 season, where he managed to take only five wickets in five matches.
However, in IPL 2018 Trent Bout emerged as the highest wicket-taker with 18 wickets. Boult can swing the game New Zealand’s way on his day.
