CPI-ML leader Rajanna held and remanded to judicial custody
CPI-ML (Janasakti) Central Committee Secretary Kura Rajanna alias Rajanna (60) has been arrested and remanded to judicial custody, the police said. Sircilla Deputy Superintendent of Police Damera Narsaiah said here on Sunday that Rajanna is involved in the murder of Enugu Prabhakar Rao alias Venugopal Rao along with other accused, which took place on February 11, 2013, at Suddala village under Konaraopet police station limits.
Soon after the murder, the police arrested four suspects, based on whose confessional statements, Rajanna, who has been underground for a long time, was arrested at a school at Champapet locality in Hyderabad on Saturday. He said that Rajanna provided weapons to co-accused Rajeshwar, Kuntaiah, Mondaiah and Vishwanath. Allegedly, Vishwanath opened fire at Prabhakar Rao with the weapon. Vishwanath is still absconding, he said.
Rajanna was arrested on Saturday and produced before the Court of the First Class Magistrate at Sircilla in Karimnagar district and was remanded to judicial custody until August 8, the DySP said.
