Cousins Couple Commits Suicide After Parents Reject Their Marriage Proposal

Nagarkurnool: A married man and his cousin sister committed suicide on Wednesday after their parents rejected their marriage proposal.

According to police, one of the victims Nagaraju(25) was running a medical store in Tudukurthi village. He was married to Uma of same village five years ago and they have a son. Meanwhile, Nagaraju fell in love with a girl Sruthi(19), who was his cousin, five months ago and promised to marry her.

When Nagaraju told the matter to his parents and wife, they inquired about the girl and found that she was a cousin sister of Raju. Several objections were raised by the family members and the villagers about their marriage. Unable to bear the separation, Nagaraju and Sruthi left home on August 21 and hanged themselves to a tree near Ippalapalli village. A suicide note was found near the spot.

The police registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
