1. TV Anchor Gets Life Sentence For Murdering Wife

Suhaib Ilyasi, former TV producer and host was awarded life imprisonment for stabbing to death his wife Anju 17 years ago, back in 2000.

2. Techie Who Chopped Wife Into 70 Pieces Given Life Imprisonment

Rajesh Gulati, a software engineer, was sentenced to life imprisonment after the court held him guilty of murdering his wife in cold blood seven years ago and keeping her body in a deep freezer for months after chopping it into 70 pieces. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 15 lakh on Gulati.

3. Talwars’ Acquittal In Aarushi Murder Case

Dentist couple Rajesh and Nupur Talwar were acquitted by the Allahabad High Court in the sensational murder case of their 13-year-old daughter Aarushi and their live-in domestic help Hemraj Banjade.

4. Dera Sacha Chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s Conviction

Dera Sacha Sauda's high profile head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was sentenced 20-year imprisonment in a rape case dating back to 2002. Meanwhile, several other cases are pending against him.

5. Jisha Murder Convict Gets Death For Rape, Killing

A court awarded death sentence to Ameerul Islam, the lone convict found guilty in the rape and murder case of a 30-year old Dalit law student in Kerala last year.

6. Former RJD MP Shahabuddin Named Accused In Journalist Murder

Former RJD MP Mohammad Shahabuddin was named as the 10th accused in the murder of Bihar journalist Rajdeo Ranjan last year.

7. TDP Leader Awarded Life Imprisonment In Fisherman’s Murder

TDP leader and former MLA from Payakaraopet--Chengala Venkata Rao--was awarded life imprisonment holding them guilty of causing death to a fisherman named Gosalakonda during a protest staged against the BMC company 10 years ago.

8. Pandher, Koli Guilty of Rape, Murder: CBI Court

Businessman Moninder Singh Pandher and his aide Surendra Koli were held guilty in the rape and murder of housemaid Anjali in 2006.

9. 2G Scam: Kanimozhi, A Raja Acquitted

Patiala court acquitted former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi in the 2G spectrum scam case. Fifteen other accused in the case and three companies were also acquitted.
