Court adjourns hearing on Jagan plea to November 12

Hyderabad, The CBI Special Court at Nampally has adjourned the hearing on YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's plea seeking court's permission to visit other states to till November 12.

In the petition, Jagan apprised the court that a precarious situation prevailing in the State direly needs his presence, since he leads a political party and also he is an MP. He must sail with the emotions of the people and also bound to know their problems while being part of their stir.

He also told the court that he ought to complete Odarpuyatra (condolence tour) to go and meet the bereaved families, who lost their bread-earners in a shock on the news of his father and late YSR's sudden demise.

In the petition seeking court's permission to travel different states, Jagan further said as the president of a registered political party, he is required to carry out various activities not only in relation to the party and his constituency, but also in relation to the interests of the general public of Andhra Pradesh.

It would be absolutely necessary and compelling for him to travel and visit various places and conduct political activities, including touring other states, in view of the current political crisis engulfing Andhra Pradesh and the upcoming elections in the year 2014, Jagan submitted.

The application also said that Jagan intends to meet leaders of different political parties and impress upon them as regards the stand adopted by him and his political party. It further said that he intends to try to convince all the national political leaders on the stand adopted by him and his political party and bring a consensus against the division of the state.

He would be required to meet leaders spread all over India, and also the MPs of other states, including various leaders of the regional parties of other states in India, like West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, as pursuant to the cabinet decision made on October 3, a bill is to be considered by the Legislative Assembly as well as the Houses of Parliament, Jagan submitted in the petition.

It may be recalled, the court on October 30 had allowed Jagan's plea for relaxing the bail conditions to enable him to visit different parts of Andhra Pradesh and Delhi after informing it two days before leaving Hyderabad.
