Court adjourns case on GHMC elections to Thursday

Hyderabad: Court adjourns its hearing on GHMC elections case to Thursday

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Council (GHMC) elections were being delayed by KCR government for a long time now. So, M Padmanabha Reddy of the Centre for Good Governance had filed a PIL with the High Court on the issue of the delay in GHMC elections.

Earlier court ordered T government to hold the elections as the earliest, but KCR led government requested for a odd time of 249 days, which was rejected by court. Court ordered the government to tell its stand on polls by submitting the possible dates for holding the polls.

The government of Telangana on Monday, explained its stand on GHMC polls to court on delimitation of the constituencies is being taken up. Advocate on behalf of government requested time to arrange possible dates to the poll for which the court of law gave a time of four days, by adjorning the case to April 16.
