Couple Ends Life As Parents Reject Marriage Proposal

Bhongir: A couple from Narketpally committed suicide and were found dead on the railway track near Ramannapet railway station on Saturday. The reason for this extreme step is said to be refusal of their marriage proposal by the parents.

According to police, Ganesh (22), who was working as a lorry driver fell in love with Poojitha (16), a Class 10 student. The duo hail from Pallepahad village of Narketpally in Nalgonda district. The two decided to get married and disclosed the matter to their parents, who rejected it due to their caste differences.

As their parents rejected the proposal, the duo left their respective houses and met at a temple near the village. Meanwhile, Poojitha's parents lodged a police complaint against Ganesh for kidnapping her daughter. The police launched a hunt and found that the two were at the temple. But the couple fled the spot on seeing the police and were later found dead on a railway track at Ramannapet.

The railway guards informed the police, who registered a case and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
