‘SportsCafe’ has developed the bot to promote its sports news portal

Hyderabad: Country’s first ‘Facebook bot’ developed by SportsCafe went live from the city on Thursday.

A media and games start-up ‘SportsCafe’ has developed the bot to promote its sports news portal, which provides live match scores and news instantly.

Currently there are only a handful of Facebook bots in the world, including SportsCafe, that provide live sports news and match scores

Bot in the Internet slang stands for ‘back on topic’ which helps users to get information on whatever they search for. For instance, type Sania Mirza and the bot displays latest news on Sania Mirza.

Besides, bot also provides summary of the article on Facebook messenger.

“Currently there are only a handful of Facebook bots in the world, including SportsCafe, that provide live sports news and match scores,“ said Yashashvi Takallapalli, CEO, SportsCafe.

Soon bot will also serves as a platform where users can give their comments contributing to SportsCafe’s news feed.
