Corporator Jayasri Alleges High-Handedness By MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Resigns

Karimnagar: Corporator C Jayasri Venu tendered her resignation here on Sunday in protest against the alleged harassment of MLA Gangula Kamalakar.

In her resignation, she stated that the MLA is hindering development works in her ward. "He is creating all possible hurdles in implementing the developments works and welfare programmes of the state government," she said. She sent her resignation letter to minister Etala Rajender, Karimnagar MP G Vinod and also chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

According to sources, there was simmering differences between the corporator and MLA Kamalakar for sometime now. They had altercations on several issues in the past and corporator Jayasri also filed a case against the MLA. The corporator's resignation is said to be the high point of those differences.
