Corporator Commits Suicide in Chittoor Mayor's Murder Case

Chittoor: The corporator of 36th Division in Chittoor town, Shivaprasad Reddy (46) on Thursday committed suicide after he was questioned by the police in connection with the murder of mayor Katari Anuradha and her husband Mohan.Shivaprasad was taken to police station for questioning on Wednesday and he came back at 10am on Thursday. He bolted himself in the room and hanged himself from a ceiling fan. The family members broke open the room to find Shivaprasad already dead.

The police already arrested Chintu alias Chandrashekar, the nephew of the deceased Katari Mohan, who confessed to his crime. 23 more have also been taken into custody in the sensational double murder case. Shivaprasad won from the 36th Division as an Independent. The family said he was anguished over the police's attempts to illegally fix him in the case.
