Hyderabad: Alleging mishandling of the Eamcet paper leak case by the Telangana government, Congress members staged a walkout of the state Assembly here on Monday.

Leading the walkout, senior Congress leader Shabbir Ali said the state government has tampered with the future of thousands of students by its lackluster handling of the issue. He cited the lack of arrests in the case so far and demanded a CBI inquiry. Replying to the allegations, state minister Kadiam Srihari said the government immediately ordered a CID inquiry after the paper leak incident came to light. "So far 49 arrests have been made and over Rs 2.80 crores recovered in the case," he said. However, members of the Congress expressed dissatisfaction over the minister's reply and staged a walkout.
