Congress' SC/ST sub-plan policy draws flak

Several political parties on Thursday criticized the Congress government for trying to legislate the SC-ST sub-plan without keeping the draft in public platform for suggestions.

Joining the list, MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said, "Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is trying to prove that he is the champion of SCs and STs. If the chief minister is serious about it, then he would have taken public suggestions and objections into consideration," he said.
Even TRS Chief K Chandrasekhara Rao took strong exception and said "The SC/ST sub-paln is not new one."
"The Congress party has sanctioned 22,000 crores to some other plans which was meant for  SC/STs. And now, it is covering up its act by offering the sub-plan. Why did the government not sanction it a decade back?," he asked.
