The recent Facebook data leak scam not only shook the United States but also triggered controversy in India. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and the opposition Congress party slammed each other over Cambridge Analytica scam, which has bought personal data of Facebook user's in India. The alleged user data leak was used by Cambridge Analytica during the US presidential election in 2016.

To this controversy, a latest picture, which was taken in the cabin of suspended Cambridge Analytica CEO Alexander Nix added fuel to the debate. The picture shows the office of Alexander along with a portrait of Congress symbol hand on the office wall.

Taking the scam to next level, Union minister of Technology and Information and Broadcasting Smriti Irani shared the picture on micro-blogging site Twitter, captioning it as "Kya Baat Hai @RahulGandhi Ji..Congress ka Haath, Cambridge Analytica ke Saath!"


Smriti Irani's tweet on Rahul Gandhi has taken the twitter by storm. Several comments were poured on the site back lashing the Congress party.

Meanwhile, after the picture went viral in the country, a former Cambridge Analytica employee Christopher Wylie claimed that the portrait was kept as a gratitude to the party. He added that then Congress government helped them in a documentation in India.

However, the Cambridge Analytica denied his words and said that Wylie was a contract employee, who left his job in 2014.
