Congress betrayed Telangana people: KCR
"We should get a self governing Telangana through our struggle", said K. Chandrasekhara rao, TRS president on Sunday.
Addressing the 'Telangana Samarabheri' meeting in Suryapet in Nalgonda District, he said "we will have to continue the struggle and resort to more agitational programmes to gain Telangana".
"Only when we get our separate state we will be able irrigate one crore acres of agricultural land. Telangana will have 24 districts and Suryapet will be made a district then," he said.
Criticizing Congress party KCR said "I was ready to merge TRS with the Congress Party if they declared Telangana state immediately but it betrayed us after long talks and discussions".
During the TDP rule under Chandrababu Naidu, the state had only retirements and no recruitment was done. Contract employees were employed of many purposes and they were treated like slaves, he said.
"People of Telangana do not want 'Chandranna rajyam or Rajanna rajyam' , they want Telangana rajayam," he added.
