The complainant Ram Chandra Yadav, a resident of Ranga Reddy district, said that a video clip of Chaganti's speech has gone viral on social media. The clip shows him as saying that "Lord Krishna was born in the Yadav family and was not as rich as Lord Ram who was an emperor".

Earlier too, Chaganti has been embroiled in a similar controversy. In 2012 Shirdi Sai devotees sought apology from Changanti for stating that Shirdi Sai should not be considered on par with God as he was only a human being.
It may be recalled that Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has appointed Changanti as the state government's cultural adviser in April 2016.
