Hyderabad: Air conditioned buses in Hyderabad will soon be equipped with WiFi services.

Before enabling the 80 luxury AC buses that are currently plying on various city routes and another 29 Pushpak buses that transport passengers to Shamshabad International Airport, a trial run will be made on the buses that run between Jubilee Bus Station and Shamshabad airport and Uppal and Waverock, revealed GHMC executive director Purushottam.

Based on the results from these two routes, the services will be enabled on other AC buses, he said and added that the WiFi services will also be extended to the Metro Deluxe and Metro Express buses in future.

The WiFi access will be available free of charge for the first 30 minutes, after which a tariff will be applicable. The RTC has tied up with 'Go Rural India' to provide these services. The Greater RTC has come up with this plan to try and increase commuter traffic for the Pushpak and Metro luxury buses.
