CM’s Camp Office Will Be Removed If It Violates Environmental Norms: Narayana
Municipal Administration Minister Narayana said that if the camp office of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is found to be violating environmental norms, it would be demolished. He said that environmental rules mandate that there should be no construction within 100 metres from the river inside the river bund. If the CM's house is within 100 metres, then it would be removed, he said.
Talking to mediapersons, he said the National Green Tribunal verdict is a good augury for the state and hoped that it would speed up the construction of the capital city. He said the NGT has asked the State Government to follow the Detailed Public Report that it had submitted, in letter and spirit .
It may be recalled that on Friday, the NGT had refused to vacate the clearance given to the capital area construction. However, while refusing to interfere with the environmental clearance given to Amaravati, the proposed capital of Andhra Pradesh, the National Green Tribunal (NGT) has formed two committees --a supervisory committee and an implementation committee -- to monitor work on the project site of Amaravati. It has also directed the Andhra Pradesh government not to carry out any operation to clear the land which falls in the project area without obtaining environmental clearance to the project.
