CM's district tour costs lorry drivers dear
The RTO officials are playing cheap tricks to impress Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy. This is what some four wheeler drivers are saying.
It is a known fact that Kiran Kumar Reddy is touring every district in the state to launch his schemes like Amma Hastam and Indirammma Kalalu. And it's a general practice for any politician to conduct public meetings on a visit to a place. The respective party leaders make all the arrangements including mobilising crowd from several neighboring places. However, this time around the responsibility seems to have gone to the RTO officials. Contrary to the general practice, this time the RTO officials are bearing this burden.
According to several lorry drivers, RTO officials seized their vehicles at check posts asking them to take back their vehicles a day later. It is learnt that the police then use these vehicles to transportation people for the Chief Minister's tour.
"I have come from Maharashtra to unload my stuff here (Adilabad). Despite the fact that I have all the necessary permissions, RTO officers have taken my vehicle. They told me to take back my vehicle a day later. They never paid heed to my repeated pleas. I have to answer my owner and have lost so much money. I could have got one more deal," the driver alleged.
It is not known if this move by the RTO officers has created any impression on the chief minister. However, lorry drivers are certainly miffed with them.
