CM Kiran Reddy is too busy to hold Cabinet meetings
If there's one person in the Andhra Pradesh who's busy as a bee then it is certainly none other than our Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy.
With his frequent trips to the nation's capital, looks like he's made Delhi his second home. Any trivial issue in the state and the CM has to rush to meet the Congress High Command seeking intervention. Thats the least you would expect from the head of the state.
Surprisingly, so busy is with his Delhi trips that he has held only two Cabinet meetings in this year!
The last time he convened a Cabinet meet was on March 7 and the latest one was on Friday. Kiran's tenure will end in less than a year and yet the CM still looks unsettled in his job.
It's worth mentioning here that Kiran's predecessors would hold a cabinet meet at least twice a month. But looks like the current CM cannot match them in any way.
No other chief minister has ever faced the kind of heat Kiran is facing from within his own camp. Thanks to his unilateral decisions, his colleagues are anything but happy. The number of dissident ministers are only growing. Sources say some ministers in CM's rival camp have even secretly complained to the Congress top brass against Kiran Reddy. Of late, the Kiran Kumar Reddy's administration has received a lot of flak. Not many are happy with his style of functioning.
The buzz in the political circles is that Kiran's naivety is the reason behind this. The CM has neither the maturity of Rosaiah nor the experience of YSR.
A few days ago, a senior Congress MP also slammed Kiran for bothering Sonia Gandhi with trivial issues. Kiran has to learn to handle them himself, he had said.
To add to his misery, the resignations of Sabitha, Dharmana and the ouster of DL Ravindra Reddy has not gone down well with all the ministers.
Insiders also say that AICC president Sonia Gandhi is not one bit amused by the endless problems plaguing the AP government. There are even talks of Kiran being replaced.
It's time for Kiran to roll up his sleeves for he hardly has any time left before next elections.
