'CM garu, did you consult us before announcing schemes?'
Of late, Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy has announced a series of new schemes such as Amma Hastham, Indiramma Kalalu and Bangaru Talli.
But senior leaders in the Congress are not too happy with Kiran Kumar Reddy's independent decision making. They allege that Kiran Reddy has not consulted the Cabinet ministers before announcing these schemes.
They observed that it is not right on the part of a chief minister to build his own image at the cost of ignoring others' opinions.
They feel that the new schemes have failed to beat the popularity of those implemented by the late YSR. "The public is unhappy with the government over dumping YSR schemes. How can the government woo people with new schemes when the old ones aren't properly functioning?" a senior leader asked, adding, " The CM kept his ministers in dark about the Bangaru Talli scheme. They heard about it only after it was announced."
While some leaders have chosen not to openly express their disapproval of the CM's latest moves, some others have publicly criticized him.
On Wednesday, DL Ravindra Reddy said that Kiran Kumar Reddy did not consult him before launching the Bangaru Talli scheme. In a veiled reference to Kiran Reddy, DL said that mere announcement of schemes wouldn't help, they must be properly implemented.
Referring to some recently launched schemes, DL said schemes should not only get mileage but also benefit the poor. If the schemes fail to take off the way it must, then I will ask the people to run after the Congress leaders, he added.
