Clay Ganesh At Khairatabad From Next Year

Hyderabad: To promote eco-friendliness, Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Samithi on Saturday announced that the Ganesh idol at Khairatabad will be made of clay from next year. Making use of the natural colors, the huge idol will be made, the samithi said.

The Khairatabad Ganesh is most popular across the two states Telangana and AP. People from many places throngs at Hyderabad to witness the gigantic idol. The decision of the samithi was also welcomed by the artisans of Coimbatore, who make the Ganesh from many years.

Addressing the gather, Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan told Ganesh youth associations across the state to follow and promote eco-friendly idols from next year.

The installation of the Khairatabad Ganesh was commenced by S. Shankaraiah in 1954.
