Class X Student Commits ‘Suicide’ Over Exam Tension

New Delhi: A 15-year-old girl allegedly committed suicide at her home in north Delhi's Burari area on Monday as she was tensed over her Class 10 examination due next year, police said.

She was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room, they said, adding no suicide note was found on the spot. “Prima facie, it looks as if she committed suicide owing to exam pressure but the exact cause is yet to be known”, a senior police officer said.

“She was a good student but was worried about her performance in the examination next year”, police said, adding that the girl was the eldest among three siblings. Her father is a farmer while mother is a homemaker, they said. She had used a dupatta to hang herself from the fan inside her room.
