Teacher Suspended After Girl Made To Stand In Boys’ Toilet; Action On School Initiated
Hyderabad: In an outrageously shameful incident, a class 5 girl student was made to stand in the boys' toilet, as a punishment for not wearing school uniform. The PT teacher who punished the girl has been suspended and the girl’s parents have filed a complaint against the school principal.
The District Education Officers (DEO) of Ranga Reddy, Sanga Reddy - Vijayakumari and Satyanarayana Reddy have initiated action against the school management. A case under section 334 of IPC has been registered.
The incident happened at Rao's High School, Old MIG, BHEL on Saturday which also drew attention of Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao, who tweeted as "ridiculous and inhuman".
The girl's parents said they wrote in her school dairy giving an explanation as to why their daughter didn’t wear the uniform. Her father submitted a letter to the principal, which reads ,"A non-teaching staff saw my child and didn’t even ask her the reason and dragged her to the boys' washroom and told her to stand there as a punishment."
The parents rued that despite they met the school principal they failed to assure them to take appropriate action, adding, they moved to NGO Balala Hakkula Sangham. The NGO said they will approach Human Rights Commission and will take this matter seriously.
However, the school’s vice-principal, Navya, has a different version, who says, "The situation has been wrongly misinterpreted. The girl was made to stand outside the classroom, which is beside the washroom. But the girl was later send to the classroom after a letter carrying explanation from her parents not wearing uniform was found."
