City Sub-Inspector Roughed Up By 3 Constables During ‘Nimajjanam’
Hyderabad: A sub-inspector attached to the Jubilee Hills police station was thrashed by three constables when he wanted them to speed up Ganesh immersion in Rahmatnagar area. Although the incident happened at Rahmathnagar on Monday evening, it came to light on Tuesday morning when GD (General Diary) of entry was made at the Jubillee Hills police station.
According to the details, the SI, who is identified as Kurumurthy, was on duty along with another constable Ramesh at Bangarumaisamma temple near Rahmathnagar as part of the Ganesh immersion. The organisers of a Ganesh pandal were asked to move the deity for immersion as it was already getting delayed.
The sub-inspector insisted that they move the pandal for immersion. A few drunk youth picked up an argument with Kurumurthy. At the same time, three constables, who were in mufti, also entered into a verbal duel with the SI by claiming that they too belonged to the police department. Later, it led to a quarrel and the constables allegedly thrashed Kurumurthy.
