City Businessman’s Wife Found Dead In Trekking Hills of Panvel

Hyderabad: Seven days after her family lost contact with her, the body of the missing woman trekker and marathoner Rachita Gupta Kanodia, 27, was found by the Maharashtra police in Panvel Taluk police station limits.

Resident of Avanthinagar in Basheerbagh and wife of businessman Amit Kumar Kanodia, Rachita had gone trekking alone in Panvel area. It is reported that her family was made to understand that she was going trekking along with a group.

On Tuesday, after a massive search operation that lasted seven days police found her body with an injury on her head. Police state that prima facie it appears to be a case of accident wherein she slipped and fell from a height, but added that they are investigating the case further.

Listed among the top five trekking destinations near Mumbai, the hills near Panvel, particularly the Karnala Fort and Kalavantin Durg, are known for their picturesque landscape that offer a challenging trekking experience.
