Chittoor: Congress leaders' atrocity against YSRCP members

Tension prevailed at Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy's native district Chittoor. Congress partymen obstructed YSRCP leaders who came to file nomination in Kalikiri.

According to reports, the Congress men forcibly snatched away nomination papers from the YSRCP members. They also damaged Sakshi TV camera when they were shooting videos of their atrocity. The Congress men also attacked Sakshi TV reporter and YSRCP party workers. Sources say YSRCP members from Marrikuntapalli were attacked in the incident. About four persons, including a boy suffered injuries.

Following this, the situation turned tense in Kalikiri. YSRCP leaders alleged that the Congress leaders have full support of the chief minister to carry out the attack.

It is learnt that the police reached the area late. The Election Commission has sought an explanation from the police on the incident.
