Chit fund company office robbed in Khammam

As much as 9 kg gold and Rs 6 lakh in cash was allegedly stolen from a private finance company's branch in Khammam district, the police said here today.

The heist which was captured by CCTV cameras showed a masked man taking away gold and cash from two lockers of the branch located at Madhira town, the police said. The incident happened yesterday night a senior police officer said, adding that investigators have begun verifying company records. The matter came to light this morning when the staff of the branch opened the office. A clues team and fingerprint experts have been pressed into service, as investigations are on, the police said.
