Cheetah gives tough time to villagers
Kolacharam (Medak): A straying leopard in Chukkapur village of Kolcharam Mandal in Medak district of Telanagana state that inflicted serious injuries to four villagers was finally caught after hectic efforts by the forest officials on Tuesday.
The villagers who were scared by the attacks of the wild cat, informed the forest officials about the straying of the wild animal and the officials reached the village with their equipment to trap the leopard. After getting the detailed information about the animal's movements, they planned to set up a trap. The leopard was almos trapped but as the net used by the forest officials was a weak one, the cheetah had managed to escape from the trap by biting the net.
The escaped leopard had attacked two more locals in the morning of Tuesday, who are being treated at the area hospital of Medak. After their first attempt had backfired and having received strong criticism from the villagers, the officials have planned well and used a stronger net trap for the cheetah and at last the officials managed to trap it. The villagers heaved a sigh of relief as the big cat was finally in the net.
