Change of vehicle number plates worsens Hyd Cop Plight

The Telangana government has recently passed an ordinance that all the vehicles number plate under Telangana government should be changed. 

But incidentally to re-assign the registration number of vehicles commuting in the state might lead the criminals to take advantage of this situation.

Criminals from district locales may replace some part of alpha number of their vehicle with prescribed changes which distort the police.  All the districts registration codes have been revised except for Telangana, and Adilabad. The vehicle owners have to change the State Code from AP to TS along with their respective district code.

While this decree has been put forth, police officials express their concern that criminals, particularly vehicle thefters may take advantage of this situation. Hence the police officials raised concerned to develop a system to halt this problem.

Right now High Security Registration Plates (HSRP) have made compulsory in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts while it has to be implemented in other districts.
