Vijayawada: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu once again made controversial comments on farmers of the state, here on Friday.

He was addressing a gathering at the Graduation Ceremony of Certificate program - Digital Transformation in Public Governance. Stating that people are slaves of subsidies, he said farmers have become habituated to input and crop subsidies. The remark angered the farming community. The CM has made several controversial statements against farmers in the past that demean them. It is well known that the government of the day gives farmers input subsidy in the event of a crop failure. However, Chandrababu found fault with the system and accused the farmers of being habituated to subsidies. His statements imply that farming is taken up to avail input and crop subsidies, the farming community said.
