Chandrababu trying to dilute Pushkaram tragedy: YSRCP

Reiterating the demand for the resignation of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, YSR Congress has said the state is trying to dilute the issue by filing a case under inappropriate sections.
“While the Collector and other official reports clearly mention that the stampede was due to holding up of the gates for over two hours at the main pushkar ghat, where the Chief Minister had offered puja, the State has filed a case under the provision of the section which reads suspicious deaths and not under the provisions of death due to negligence,” party spokesperson K Partha Saradhi told reporters on Thursday.
The Committee which was formed for the arrangements included Chandrababu Naidu’s henchmen and not professionals and there seems to be no review or planning for the number of devotees likely to attend the event and the arrangements to be done in accordance.
“The Government should make it clear, whether or not FIR was filed and under what sections and if the DGP will file against the State. As Chandrababu Naidu has been the sole responsible person for delaying the event by staying for over three hours at the main pushkar ghat, he should own responsibility and quit immediately,” he said.
