Chandrababu to hike power tariff soon

Coming summer could be hotter for the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The common people have to bear an additional burden of power tariff too besides power outages.
The TDP government is all set to increase the power tariff.
According to a report in an English daily, the burden will increase from 15 to 30 per cent in the state and it will be a minimum of Rs 1.50 extra per unit. The amount will be higher for the consumers who are in the 500 + category.
It is said that the Government is planning to hike the charges by the end of February.
Due to the shortage of coal and power purchase from other states, the government has decided to hike the power tariff.
