Chandrababu To Attend Rottella Festival Today
Nellore: Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu will visit dargah in Nellore on Thursday to offer prayers at the famous festival Rotiyan Ki Eid popularly known as ‘Rottela Pandaga’.
Elaborate arrangements have been made and security has been beefed up. The bathing ghats have been inspected by SP Vishal Gunni and district collector Muthyala Raju.
The five days festival started on October 12 and will end on October 16. Devotees throng Bara Shaheed dargah near Swarnala Cheruvu and take holy bath and offer prayers.
The festival has its origin dated back to 1751. The significance of this festival reportedly is a devotees believes that their wishes will come true by paying tributes to the 12 martyrs in these days.
Women exchange rotis after offering prayers believing that exchanging of rotis means sharing the difficulties.
