Chandrababu Suppressing Dalits’ Rights: YSRCP
Nandyal: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no right to seek votes from the Dalit community as the TDP government has suppressed the community and denied it even the rights accorded by the Constitution.
Speaking to the mediapersons in Nandyal on Tuesday, YSR Congress Party SC cell President Meruga Nagarjuna has alleged that Chandrababu did not take any steps towards the eradication of untouchability. The CM has also failed in curbing attacks on Dalits in Andhra Pradesh in the recent times.
The recent incident of attack on Dalits in Garagaparru village and another in East Godavari have given a clear indication that the Dalits are not safe in the state. The YSR Congress leader questioned Chandrababu for maintaining silence on such incidents. Government has also snatched away lands from Dalits in Devarapalli village in Prakasham district, he said.
Chandrababu has also turned the SC Corporation defunct by not allocating funds to it. During the time of Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the SC corporation was strengthened by providing sufficient funds, he leader added.
