Chandrababu Naidu meets Sharad Yadav, talks politics?

Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday met Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav amid plans to hold a national meeting of non-Congress and non-BJP parties in October ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections.

Mr. Yadav declined to reveal what transpired during his meeting with Mr. Naidu.
The meeting comes two days after CPI (M) General Secretary Prakash Karat met the JD (U) president and is learnt to have discussed plans to bring “secular forces” on one platform.
Sources said that there is a plan to bring maximum number of political parties, who are neither part of NDA nor the UPA, together and hold a national meeting here next month.
JD(U), which was part of the NDA, had walked out of the BJP on June 16 snapping its 17-year old ties with the party in protest against the elevation of Narendra Modi as that party’s campaign committee chief.
The chasm between the two parties is all the more widened after Mr. Modi was declared its Prime Ministerial candidate.
While a section in JD (U) is in favour of close ties with Congress, party president Sharad Yadav has been maintaining that the party has always been fighting against the ruling party of India.
Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also been talking about the need for regional forces to come together on common issues.
