Chandrababu Naidu Government Owes Rs 1,22,000 Crore To Unemployed Youth
Hyderabad: The Chandrababu Naidu government owes Rs 1,22,000 crore to unemployed youth of Andhra Pradesh as per its poll promise, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
In an open letter addressed to the Andhra Pradesh chief minister on Saturday, the opposition leader said Chandrababu promised in his election manifesto a job or Rs 2,000 per month to the youth till they get a job. "For the 35 months that Babu assumed office the total amount for each youth amounts to Rs 70,000. About 175,00,000 families are eagerly waiting for the chief minister to fulfill his poll promise. The poll promise was made in 2014 and till date he has failed to provide a job nor sanction the unemployment amount," YS Jagan said.
The YSRCP chief called on Chandrababu Naidu to immediately fill all the vacancies especially Group-2. "There were 1,42,828 vacancies at the time of the division of the state. Till date the government has not listed out its action plan or policy to fill those vacancies leaving many youth in dire straits. Though 10,000 teachers were appointed last year, a further 17,000 teaching vacancies still exists. Similar is the pathetic state in various departments including police," he said.
The open letter went on to list out the election manifesto of the TDP party and the scores of promises it had made to provide employment in various government departments. Calling on the government to list out its priorities in providing employment to the youth, the opposition leader said he is not making any special requests or demands but only asking the chief minister to fulfill his election promises.
