Chandrababu Lying About UCs: IYR Krishna Rao

Hyderabad: Former Andhra Pradesh State Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao criticised Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for lying about the utilization certificates (UC). Speaking to Sakshi TV here today, he pointed out that it was not true that the centre was demanding UCs for deficit budget.

He said the centre would ask for UCs only for the funds allocated under welfare programmes. If there was no misuse of funds then why should the TDP government be coy about submitting them to the centre. He said that the AP government's hesitation to submit UCs was only leading to a suspicion about the utilisation of funds.

Referring to Amaravati, IYR Krishna Rao asked whether there was a need to build a mega city afresh when the state already has three big cities which could be developed. He was of the opinion that only an administrative capital construction was needed. "I am not against building a capital city, but it should not come at the cost of state's development," he said.
