Chandrababu can claim credit for even Charminar: Sharmila

YSR Congress Party chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister Sharmila came down heavily on Telugu Desam Party head Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday, saying that the latter,  who put the farming community to untold hardships by increasing interest rates and electricity tariff, is capable of even claiming credit for Charminar.  

Sharmila who is touring Venkatagiri in Nellore district, as part of election campaign said that when it came to boasting, no one could beat Chandrababu. She added that she would not be surprised if Chandrababu one day claimed credit for building Charminar.  

Sharmila recalled the various welfare schemes introduced for the farmers, students, women, senior citizens and the differently abled by her father and the former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

Launching a broadside attack on former chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chandrababu, YS Sharmila said that after the demise of  YSR, state plunged into prolonged crisis. She added that all YSR's welfare schemes were watered down by Kiran Kumar Reddy's government.

Stating that YSR had looked after the interests of the state like a father would, Sharmila asked the public to remember him,  when they were going to cast their votes.  

She took the opportunity to assert that only YS Jagan made sincere efforts to stall the bifurcation process. The division could have been stopped if the main opposition leader Chandrababu had withdrawn his letter that he had written in favour of Telangana to the Centre, and had Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned the day the CWC took the decision, she added.
