CEO acts on YSRCP’s complaint, request telecast details from TV Channel

Based on the complaint filed by the YSR Congress Party leader and Guntur ex-MLA Ambati Rambabu about the candid revelations of the AP Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasad Rao on his unlawful election expenditure, the Chief Election Officer Bhanwarlal dashed off a letter to the Chief Executive Officer of N TV news Channel, asking them to provide him with the details of that TV program.

During an interview on N TV channel’s program ‘Face to Face’ that was telecast on 19-06-2016 and re-telecast on 20-06-16, the AP Legilative Assembly Speaker made revelations about his elections expenditure.

Speaking on the issue of ‘money power in politics’ the Speaker of the Assembly candidly stated that while he had spent Rs.30,000 on the Assembly elections in 1983, he spent Rs 11.5 crore for the General Elections in 2014.

This far exceeds the limit that is set by the Election Commission.

Banwarlal has asked to be provided with the details of the program such as the date, time and duration of the program including the soft copy of the same, by July 20.
