Chalapathi Rao comments at a pre-release event of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A case has been filed against senior actor Chalapathi Rao by women organizations at Jubilee Hills on Tuesday after he made derogatory comments against women at the pre-release event of Rarandoi Veduka Chuddam. The actor's comments have gone viral on social media and he is facing severe backlash for his foot-in-the-mouth comments.

The film's tagline ‘Ammayilu aarogyaaniki haanikaramaa' (Are girls injurious to health?) has become hugely popular. The anchor at the event asked the celebs about their view over this tagline. To this many came up with quirky replies, but Rao's ineffable comments took everyone by surprise when he said, "Ammayilu hanikaram kadu kani.. pakkalo ki paniki vastharu (I don’t know if girls are injurious to health or not but, they are useful in bed)".

Nagarjuna who is producing the film under home banner Annapurna Studios, took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday to clear the air. He said that he always respects women personally and professionally, and that he doesn't stand by Rao's derogatory comments.

Chalapathi Rao too tendered an apology to women saying that he did not intend to hurt their feelings. "I always respect women," he said.
