Case against TV news channel for allegedly morphing visuals - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad, A police complaint was today registered against a Telugu TV news channel following allegations that it morphed the visuals which were aired with a news report on a meeting between Andhra Pradesh DGP V Dinesh Reddy and a local spiritual leader.

Zee-24 (Gantalu), the channel, had yesterday telecast a story highlighting the visit by Reddy to the house of the godman in Fateh Darwaza area in the Old City.
Assistant Inspector General (ADM) M Subbarao today lodged a complaint with Central Crime Station alleging visuals which showed the DGP prostrating himself before the godman, had been morphed.
A case under section 469 (forgery for purpose of harming reputation) of the Indian Penal Code and under the sections of Information Technology Act was filed.
Another complaint was lodged with the Hussaini Alam police station, which accused the channel of slandering the spiritual leader by levelling false allegations against him.
The news report could have also led to communal disharmony, the complaint said.
Meanwhile, a group of persons held a protest in front of the TV channel's office at Khairtabad here.
