Capital area farmers meet YS Jagan
A group of farmers from Andhra Pradesh capital zone met leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and informed him of their plight if they were to lose their land on Monday.
YS Jagan was in Mangalagiri to attend a wedding reception of former MPP Rathamsetti Sitaramanjeyulu's elder son Rajamannar.
Farmers of Nidamarru, Kuragallu, Penamaka and Vundavalla met YS Jagan and told him they were not willing to give away their lands for the capital.
After the reception, scores of farmers along with MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy met YS Jagan. The farmers told him they would become homeless if the government resorted to high-handedness and goes ahead with its land-pooling process.
Lending a patient hearing, the YSRCP chief assured the farmers that he would fight to protect the interests of farmers and make sure they get justice.
He promised them his party would raise the issues of land-pooling in the ensuing Assembly session and will fight against the Government if it goes against the wishes of the farmers.
