Capital area farmers join Anna Hazare's protests
YSRCP's official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu and farmers unwilling to part with their lands for the new AP capital, have joined anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare's protest against the Land Acquisition Ordinance at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on Tuesday.
They complained to the social activist that AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is doing great injustice to the farmers in the name of the capital city construction. They told Anna Hazare that the they will lose their livelihood if the government takes away their lands. " Government is snatching away our fertile lands and we will lose income as we don't have any other means of livelihood," they told to Anna Hazare.
Speaking to the media after meeting Anna Hazare, Ambati Rambabu said "Why would the Government need 30000 acres to set up a capital? Experts are saying that 2000 acres are enough to set up a new capital. Will you use the remaining land for real estate ?," he asked.
