Can Sukumar-Mahesh Recreate Nenokkadine Magic?
Hyderabad: Filmmaker Sukumar and Superstar Mahesh Babu came together with their last outing Nenokkadine. And now the latest buzz is that the duo are coming back again. The duo's last outing Nenokkadine, a psychological thriller, despite having high production values and novel script bombed at the box-office. Will Sukumar weave magic and deliver a hit with Mahesh this time? Sukumar who promised Mahesh a hit last time, now wants to keep up to his word.
Nenokkadine was made on a whopping budget Rs 70 crore. And it minted Rs 8.4 crore on the first day of it release, but the number plummeted in coming days. Its worldwide collections stood at Rs 29 crore and earned Rs 14 crore from other channels like satellite rights etc. The film was produced by 14 Reels Entertainment, however, it was reported that they are not keen to bankroll Sukumar-Mahesh project again.
Sukumar is currently busy with Rangasthalam 1985 starring Ram Charan and Samantha Akkeneni. And the director will shoot with Mahesh after he wraps up Rangasthalam. On work front, Mahesh is busy with Bharath Ane Nenu helmed by Koratala Siva slated for summer release next year. Meanwhile, the actor has series of films lined-up to be directed by Vamsi Paidapally, Trivikram Srinivas, and SS Rajamouli will also wield the megaphone.
