Can AP pull off the WTC event?

  While it's a known fact that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy had requested state in-charge of party affairs Ghulam Nabi Azad to postpone the all-party meet on Telangana, as the date clashes with World Telugu Conference (WTC), there's a new twist to the tale.

The latest buzz is that there is a possibility of the World Telugu Conference getting postponed. Reason being that the Avilala grounds in Tirupati where the famed event was to take place has turned unsuitable, thanks to the incessant rains that have lashed the district in the recent days.
With that being the case and the weathermen predicting more rains, experts have ruled out Avilala as venue for the prestigious World Telugu Conference.
The prestigious literary event is scheduled to be held in Tirupati from December 27-29.
The conference was to be held at the Avilala Pedda Cheruvu in the temple town. However, the venue is far from ready after the heavy rains.
It is learnt that Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy at a review meeting asked the WTC committee to look for an alternate venue. Interestingly, it is being said that the CM is firm on not changing the dates despite lack of adequate time to prepare for the event.
On Friday, it was reported that the Venkateswara Veterinary grounds with a seating capacity of 30,000 was finalised as the venue.
The World Telugu Conference was touted to be a grand affair what with plans to construct several dais on which the rich Telugu culture could be showcased in the form of drama, dance and other events. However, with the sudden change in venue, such preparations only seems a distant dream!
Officials of the WTC committee are disappointed that the event wouldn't take off the way it was intended earlier.
It is learnt that although the government did sanctioned Rs 4.22 crore for the grand event, the venue is far from ready—thanks to the slow pace of work!
Now the million dollar question would be will the state be able to pull off such a prestigious event in style or will it be another flop show? Let's wait and watch!
